本題可平衡對稱結構(parallelism)和比較要同類(illogical comparison) ，
在unlike A, B + Verb的句型中A與B要同類。
本題的A是指crested wheatgrass (大麥草)，
B應指North American grasses而非root system，
所以不同類的C/D/E這三個選項都不選。
選項(A) native North America grasses develop... but do not grow...
________ ___________
V1 V2
But是個對等連接詞，所連接的兩邊都要對等，
如原句中動詞(develop)連接動詞(do not grow)。
選項(B)所連接的兩邊不對等，
一邊是動詞develop，另一邊是介詞片語without growing...
解析如下：
native North American grasses develop... but without grawing to be that
_______ _______ _________________

選項(A)的allowing修飾native North American grasses的可能性不大，
因兩者距離太遠，中間隔有動詞develop，
所以不會有歧義(ambiguity)上的問題。
